Organisers have urged fans attending the Formula 1 Ooredoo Qatar Grand Prix 2021 to arrive at the venue early and be mindful of Covid-19 regulations that will be in place for all three days of the event. Amro al-Hamad, QMMF’s Executive Director, has said the fans must follow the event guidelines for the race this weekend.

“We are all set to host the biggest motor sport event in Qatar’s history. Thousands of fans are expected to arrive at the Losail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC) on all three days of the event,” al-Hamad said.

“We strongly recommend ticket holders to arrive at the venue early. They can come using their own car or bike. They can also use the Metro services to reach Losail Station with ease. From Losail Station, they can take shuttle services to reach the entry points,” al-Hamad said. “Taxis are also available to and from the venue. I would encourage ticket holders to visit our website to get more details on Metro and shuttle timings. We have already dispatched an e-mail to all ticket holders instructing them on how to enter the venue with ease,” he said.

“All transportation details and map locations are easily accessible on the LCSC website,” he added. Fans, who require special assistance to reach the venue through wheel-chair access, must contact us well in advance. Our staff will help you enter the venue and guide you to your seats,” he added.

“Once the fans reach the venue, they must keep in mind that the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) directives will be implemented for the entire event. Every visitor must show the Green Code on the Ehteraz App on their cellphones at the first point of entry. This is for Qatar residents who have bought tickets for the event. Fans must remember that at least 14 days should have elapsed since their final dose. Then only will they be allowed into the venue.

“For those coming from overseas, they will have to show their vaccine certificate from their country of origin. Children under the age of 12 will have to take a rapid antigen test and bring their negative result which should be received 24 hours prior to their arrival at the venue. The test can be done at any health centre in the country,” al-Hamad said.

“Once the fans enter the venue, our dedicated staff will help you reach your designated seats. Fans must remember that they have to wear masks while they are in the stands,” he said.
More details on Covid-19 protocols can be obtained from the LCSC’s official Instagram page ‘losailcircuit’, he said. The QMMF Executive Director said 3 Fan Zones have been set up to allow ticket holders to have fun away from the on-track action.
