This was announced by the directorate on TwitterTuesday.
A video had gone viral on social media recently, showing a security guard helping schoolchildren and others safely cross a road in a cheerful manner.
Holding a stop sign in one hand, he was seen greeting passersby and bumping elbows with the children.
Another security guard could be seen nearby, helping the children cross the road.
The video was shared by a user named @WameDoha on Twitter, who called the security personnel “Mr Sunshine”, and said: "These are the people who, when you see them from afar, give you a smile.”

The Traffic Awareness Department also honoured an individual, Anmer Abdullatif Abdullah al-Saaydah, for his efforts and co-operation with the department in spreading traffic awareness.
