Qatar Rail has said Doha Metro Green Line services between Education City and Al Riffa will be affected from 3pm to 9pm Tuesday by a planned 'Watan' joint security exercise, in collaboration with the Safety & Security Operations Committee at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
Metro services on the rest of the network will continue running normally, Qatar Rail tweeted Monday. The ‘Watan’ joint exercise began Monday to confirm the security readiness of Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The three-day exercise is being held with the participation of various entities and 13 brotherly and friendly countries.
The drill is being conducted with the participation of all military, civil, organisational and service authorities in Qatar according to their competence and under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, Chairman of the Security Committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
