HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi met with Qatari students on scholarship in France in the presence of HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, QNA reported.
During the meeting, HE al-Nuaimi was briefed on the students' academic and social conditions, highlighting the role assigned to them in achieving the country's needs for quality education. Also, she urged them to work hard and the need for excellence in their academic paths, and listened to their suggestions, stressing the ministry's follow-up to their observations and requirements.
HE al-Nuaimi also stressed that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is working hard to increase the number of students on scholarships, praising the distinguished relations between Qatar and France in various fields.
She directed the students to take advantage of the university study by acquiring science knowledge, and skills as well as to familiarise with students to get acquainted with different cultures.
She underscored the importance of diligence and self-confidence so that they can easily reach the highest positions. For their part, the students touched on the challenges they face as scholarship students to study in France, especially academic challenges such as language, culture, etc. They talked about their specialisations and scientific interests, hailing the academic support provided to them by the cultural attache in Paris.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture urged the students to be patient and benefit from the study experiences and in their daily lives as students on scholarships in France, stressing the need to develop life skills and behaviours and to coexist with different cultures around them.
Qatar's representative to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) Nasser al-Hanzab, who is the supervisor of the students, said that the cultural attache welcomes all students of Qatar and is ready to assist them to participate in conferences and events that take place in international organisations and other organisations to benefit from them and to increase their knowledge.
