QRCS opens Innovation Center for Addict Rehabilitation in Kenya

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) opened Innovation Center for Addict Rehabilitation for addiction survivors, in Lamu Island, eastern Kenya, and handed it over to the local authorities there.This came during a visit by a delegation headed by HE the Secretary-General of QRCS Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi to Kenya.The center, which foundation stone was laid three years ago, was constructed and furnished by QRCS, at a total cost of USD 1 million. It will help addiction survivors, and train inmates in handicrafts and vocational crafts as part of activities to help survivors to restore normal life.It is a rehabilitation center that serves families of Lamu, an island of Muslim majority. Some special rehabilitation services will be given to young men suffering social/family issues due to addiction.The center also provides psychological and health rehabilitation and craft and vocational training, including health care to treat addiction problems, and provide job opportunities that guarantee a decent life for youth and women.
