MES Indian School (MESIS) - Abu Hamour Branch conducted its first Annual Sports Day recently.
The sports meet inauguration ceremony was held before the competitions and presided by Principal Dr Mohamed Haneef. The chief guests of the event were Khaleel A P (Vice President, MESIS) and the guests of honour were M C Muhamed (Director of Cultural Activities, MESIS) and Faisal Mayan (Director of Islamic Affairs, MESIS).
The ceremony started with a prayer recitation by Neja Mehdin followed by a welcome address delivered by Head Girl Falaqul Thahira. Chief guest Khaleel A P opened the “MESIS Sports Meet 2021.”
After the oath to observe sportsmanship by school parliament members, the chief guest M C Mohamed handed the sports flag to sports captain Afaf Shiyas.
The ceremony was concluded by Zeba Adam, who anchored the opening ceremony with a quote by Milkha Singh, “Hardwork, will-power and dedication; for a person with these qualities, the sky is the limit”. Vote of thanks was delivered Salim (PE teacher, MESIS).
‘MESIS Sports Meet 2021’ was organised for five categories: Kids, Super Junior, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior. Under each category, five events were held.
