As part of Doha being named the 'Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021', the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) hosted a poetry evening in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture represented by the Qatar Poetry Centre (Diwan Al Arab).









In attendance were Ahmad Musa al-Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums; HE Sheikh Faisal bin AbdulAziz al-Thani, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Islamic Art; Dr Hassan Rashid al-Derham, president of Qatar University; Faleh al-Ajlan al-Hajri, adviser to HE the Minister of Culture, as well as a group of distinguished poets and members of the wider community. Poets Nasser al-Wabeer, Hamad al-Baridi and Radi al-Hajri participated in the poetry evening, moderated by Atta Mohamed.
