The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has explained the requirements for getting visit visas for family members. These include having a minimum salary of QR5,000 to apply for visit visas for spouse and children and QR10,000 for other family members/relatives, such as parents, siblings and spouse's relatives.
This came at a virtual awareness seminar organised by the Unified Services Department (USD) and Humanitarian Services Office, in co-operation with the Public Relations Department at the MoI, on Thursday.
Lt-Col Dr Saad Owaida al-Ahbabi, head of the Service Offices Section at the USD, spoke about the MoI service centres in different parts of the country and explained the services they provide to the public, including citizens and residents.
Capt Abdullah Saeed al-Abdullah, officer at the Humanitarian Services Office, explained the functions of the Office and the humanitarian services it provides in co-ordination with a number of relevant institutions in the country under a single window.
Captain Mohamed Ali al-Rashid from the USD spoke in detail about the procedures to avail of the grace period for legalising the status of expatriates who have violated the residency law. The grace period started on October 10 and continues until December 31.
The visit visa requirements were explained by Lt-Col al-Ahbabi.
Applications for visit visas for spouse/children could be submitted through Metrash2 and require the following: the visit visa application form, no-objection letter from the employer, photocopy of the company card, copy of the passport of the visitor(s), copy of the applicant's ID card, health insurance, round-trip tickets, proof of relationship (wife - notarised marriage certificate/children - birth certificate) and work contract notarised by the Ministry of Labour. Also, the applicant needs a minimum salary of QR 5,000.
Visit visa applications for other family members, such as parents, siblings and spouse's relatives, could also be done through Metrash2 and require the following documents: the visit visa application form, no-objection letter from the employer, copy of the company card, copy of the passport of the visitor(s), copy of the applicant's ID card, copy of the wife's residency card (if she is a resident) and proof of relationship. The applicant needs to have the minimum salary of QR10,000.
