Qatar and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in legal fields between the two countries' ministries of justice.
The agreement was signed by HE the Minister of Justice Masoud bin Mohamed al-Ameri and Iraqi Minister of Justice Salar Abdul Sattar Mohamed, who is currently visiting the country.
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral co-operation in the legal fields, exchange expertise on legal matters, particularly in successful practices in legal and judicial training. The agreement also builds a foundation for co-operation in the documentation and real estate registration fields, besides exchanging expertise on legal actions related to real estate, and the procedures of its registration. It also addresses the documentation of commercial companies' contracts and other forms of contracts in the two countries.
On the sidelines of the signing, HE the Minister of Justice met with his Iraqi counterpart and his accompanying delegation. The meeting dealt with reviewing ways to enhance legal co-operation between Qatar and Iraq, and how to develop it different justice-related fields. The meeting also dealt with discussing mechanisms to implement the MoU, and discussed issues of joint interest.
