Setting a new benchmark in the region’s investor relations domain, Baladna, Qatar’s largest producer of fresh dairy, recently scooped two coveted honours at the Middle East Investor Relations Association’s 2021 MEIRA IR Awards.
The company won the ‘Best Printed 2020 Annual Report’ and the ‘Best Digital 2020 Annual Report’ titles, beating out other well-regarded firms.
The two awards were presented to Baladna at the ‘2021 MEIRA Hybrid Annual Conference and Awards ceremony’ held on October 25 at The Address Sky View, Dubai.
The judges considered a wide range of criteria to ensure that the winning nomination met the best practices in investor relations reporting, including content, design, user experience, engagement, accessibility, and navigation, among many others.
On the achievement, Saifullah Khan, Baladna CFO, said, “We are delighted to be honoured with two distinguished awards in IR reporting regionally, and accept these accolades on behalf of the entire Baladna team with a deep sense of humility. This recognition is a testament to our unshakable commitment to adhering to the highest standards of reporting and governance to create value for our shareholders.
“We thank (MEIRA) for recognising our efforts in embracing leading (IR) practices, and we also extend our gratitude to our colleagues without whom this accomplishment would not be possible.”
Notably, Baladna is the only company listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange to receive nominations for the best annual reports from MEIRA.
It is also worth highlighting that it is the company’s first ever annual report since its incorporation on December 2, 2019, that was crowned at the esteemed awards ceremony.
The Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the investor relations (IR) profession and international standards in corporate governance.
The mission of MEIRA is to enhance the reputation, efficiency, and attractiveness of the Middle East capital markets.
