Msheireb Properties concluded its activations for Qatar Sustainability Week, held from October 23 to 30 at Barahat Msheireb in Msheireb Downtown Doha. The activations featured a whole-week exhibition, green talks and workshops that appealed to the entire community, a press statement noted. The activations were attended by a large number of visitors, families and students who gained information and insights about environmental degradation and climate change, and the efforts for positive climate action taken by Qatar and the world.

The activities concluded with a series of workshops dedicated to promoting sustainability practices and learning how to practise real sustainability in one’s daily chores. The entities that conducted the workshops were M7, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and Engineers Australia.
For the first time, Msheireb Properties organised 'Talk Green' for corporates, institutions and youth to address a variety of eco-related solutions and strategies on sustainability, encourage other organisations to adopt sustainability in their business and motivate people to adopt green practices in their daily life. Several local and international organisations took part in the 'Talk Green' event, including Msheireb Properties, Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), Qatar Foundation, International Living Future Institute, Supreme Committee for Legacy & Delivery, Shell, Qatar Academy Msheireb, Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Torba, Beehive recycling, B.atna, Seashore Group, talabat, Qatar USA 2021, the Hungarian embassy in Qatar, and Doha Debates, as well as individual presentations by Soud Aljanahi and Qatar University graduates.
The topics of 'Talk Green' focused on the importance of protecting the environment, conserving natural resources to achieve sustainability and mitigate climate change. Several individuial and institutional initiatives raised awareness among community members and demonstrated how to adopt and implement sustainable practices in one’s lives.
The speakers also stressed the role of individuals to create change, and on the communities’ attitudes to protect the environment, reduce pollution and sustain the future of coming generations. The 'Talk Green' event reflects the commitment of Msheireb Properties to promote sustainability, enhance collaborations with national entities, and raise awareness on sustainable living, the statement adds.
At the event, Msheireb Properties launched the 'Msheireb Green Programme' dedicated to cafes and restaurants in Msheireb Downtown Doha to encourage the implementation of sustainability best practices in line with the company’s mission and vision. The ‘Msheireb Green Programme’ will be implemented from December to encourage F&B outlets to implement sustainability practices to receive Gold or Platinum certificates.
