The Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by Qatar Scientific Club, will organise on Nov 7 the Challenge and Innovation Forum Qatar 2021, under the slogan "With The Mind, We Untie The Knots", in the framework of the events of Doha Capital of Culture in Islamic World 2021.
The Challenge and Innovation Forum (CIF) is a unique event in the region.
It includes a number of competitions, events, and interactive science programmes aimed at motivating and encouraging inventors, from all over the world.
The forum is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar University, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corp, Qatar Development Bank, the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the Islamic Co-operation Youth Forum (ICYF), the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA), and the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA).
The forum's website has received nearly 1,055 applications to participate in it, 100 application representing 38 countries were accepted after holding interviews.
The forum includes individual competition; hackathon-style group competition; future inventors exhibition, futuristic devices exhibition, technology exhibition, workshops and recreational activities.
The ministry said in a statement that the forum has adopted international technical standards for competitions, where the jury evaluates the performance of the teams, sorts and arranges the candidates, then sends the names of the winners to the technical committee for accreditation.
The statement indicated that the first prize will be the platinum medal, followed by gold, silver, and bronze.
In the "Innovations" competition, participants will receive medals (platinum, gold, silver and bronze) for each category based on the participating categories, and financial prizes of QR1mn distributed to the first winners from the first to the fifth.
For the hackathon competition, the teams will be divided into groups, and the first three groups will be honored.
