Qatar participated in the meeting of UN Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC), which was held via video conferencing, with the attendance of 110 participants from around the world, to discuss the launch the UN Global Plan for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030. The State was represented in the meeting by Secretary of the National Traffic Safety Committee Brigadier Mohamed Abdullah al-Malki. The World Health Organisation (WHO) had launched a global action plan on road safety that aims to prevent at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030. Qatar has recorded successive decreases in the number of accident deaths over the past few years, reaching 4 deaths per 100,000 last year.
