The Ministry of Interior organised Sunday a workshop on its legal evaluation approach to enhance awareness among its cadres, and ensure that its security services are provided in accordance with the highest legal standards.
The opening of the workshop was attended by a number of officers and officials at the ministry.
Senior Prosecutor Dr Hamad Zaal al-Nuaimi and Assistant Prosecutor Turki Abdullah al-Qurashi gave a lecture.
The workshop reviewed a number of legal and procedural issues related to the ministry's work and the duties of the officers, including: labour relations, military orders, arrest and its conditions, cases of flagrante delicto, arrest and search procedures, and restrictions on these procedures.
The workshop also reviewed the position of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the obligations of the policeman towards cases of arrest and search, types of inspection, military action controls and other legal issues.
Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Interior Major General Engineer Abdul Aziz Abdullah al-Ansari said the importance of holding the workshop and its role in raising the level of legal awareness of the ministry's employees at various levels, with the importance of the participants transferring their experiences and what they learned in the workshop to their colleagues in the rest of the departments.
He explained the importance of the legal aspect in the work of the Ministry of Interior, especially in light of Qatar's global position and its distinguished role in international forums, which necessitates all the ministry's employees to have a great deal of legal and professional awareness and an understanding of the dimensions of the job they perform.
He added that the countdown to Doha's hosting of the most important international sporting event (the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022) has begun, and as Qatar promised, the organisation will be wonderful and honourable for all Arabs, and this cannot be without the important and vital role that the security men will play in maintaining security and providing reassurance to the guests of Qatar.
