Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), successfully organised the 'Pink Walk' on Saturday at Aspire Park.
The event, which involved a 1km walk around Aspire Park, was held from 3.30pm to 5.30pm with 300 participants.
During the walk, participants were accompanied by a number of organisers and coaches from Aspire to ensure that precautionary measures were followed and that social distancing between individuals was adhered to.
Qatar Cancer Society distributed awareness booklets and gifts among all the participants, and also set up a small booth to spread awareness on the issue and answer visitors’ questions.
"As a sports organisation, AZF focuses on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among all community members, in line with the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to create a physically and psychologically healthy population for a well-rounded society," AZF said in a statement.
This year’s edition was sponsored by the official partners, Vodafone, Suhail Group Holding, LuLu Hypermarket; the event sponsors, McDonalds, Regency Group Holding' and held in co-operation with QCS and the permanent partner, Sports Corner.
