Area 9 Toastmasters of Division C, District 116, held their first confluence meeting of 2021 and established the first-ever centralised mentoring committee under the area.
The hybrid meeting was attended by a galaxy of Toastmasters, including district director Manzoor Moideen, district PQD Rajesh V C, divisional director Rauf, the area ExCom team - including Pradeep Kumar, area director, Hitesh Savalia, assistant director (programme quality), Bobby Mathew, assistant director (club growth) and Pooja George, area secretary, as well as presidents of clubs under the area.
The clubs under Area 9 are Talking Matters Toastmasters Club, Pearl Toastmasters Club and Flaming Spirits Toastmasters Club.
In his opening address, Area 9 director Pradeep Kumar set ambitious goals for the area for its continued improvement. He said such improvements could be made possible only by instilling a high-performance culture, fostering camaraderie and forming a centralised mentoring committee for the benefit of all members.
The meeting was a well-organised hybrid event with a beautifully crafted theme, 'Colors of US', by Toastmaster of the Day Freeda Lobo and engaged both online as well as in-person attendees.
The meeting was also marked by a presentation on ‘Moment Of Truth’ by the champion speaker, Nisha Shivram, and an education module on ‘Mentoring’ by the champion mentor, Vinodh K Pisharom.
The confluence meeting also witnessed the awarding of trophies to winners of the Area 9 annual contest for 2021.
