The second round of the Qatar Off-Road Championship will be held at Al Kharsaah near Al Shahaniya on Saturday.
The rally, conducted by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), will cover a total distance of 142km with 23 participants competing in four categories. The administrative checks and scrutineering for the vehicles will be conducted today.
The first round of the championship was held last Saturday at Sealine. UAE’s Mohamed al-Balooshi emerged quickest in the 450CC category on a specially designed desert circuit. South Africa’s Jaco Anderson was the fastest in the over 450CC section, while Belgium’s Emiel Stuckens and Qatar’s Ahmed Allouh topped the quad and auto categories respectively.
The championship will consist of six rounds. Two rounds each are scheduled for November and December, with the season finale to be staged on December 10 and 11. The sixth and final round will offer double points to the participants.
