* There are a total of 215,408 students in 328 private schools and kindergartens

The department of private schools affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced that the current academic year has registered 14,724 students so far, bringing the total number of students to 215,408 in 328 private schools and kindergartens. The department noted that students coming from outside the country can register no later than the end of January next year, pointing out that the registration deadline for the academic year 2021-2022 was last Thursday.
Director of the ministry's private schools licensing department, Hamad Mohamed al-Ghali, called on parents to take advantage of the electronic services for the private education sector within the public services portal on the Ministry's website www.edu.gov.qa, where parents can enter the portal for guidance and access information on private schools and kindergartens.
Al-Ghali noted that the private schools licensing department has given priority to creating a database for all private schools and kindergartens, which is available on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education website, explaining the name of the school or kindergarten, the approved curriculum, annual tuition fees, and basic information about the school, vacancies, absorptive capacity and school accreditation and educational vouchers, in addition to the possibility of comparing one school to another.
Al-Ghali indicated that the guardian can obtain a list of the names of those schools and private kindergartens, through the Ministry's website as it contains many classifications, and can be searched through the name of the school, the curriculum, the geographical area of the school's location, the educational level, annual tuition fees and contact data.
He also explained that the number of schools within the educational voucher system for the current academic year amounted to 118 private schools and kindergartens, and that the number of new schools opened during the current academic year reached 15 private schools and kindergartens. The Ministry of Education, through the special education affairs sector, appealed to parents to ensure the educational system they choose for their children, as the different educational systems specify a set of requirements related to the admission of students within the school stages, using different names for certain age stages.
