The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has started tree planting in zone two of the development project in West Muaither (Al-Manaseer) Package 2. Ashghal tweeted that 45 trees will be planted by the end of October while developing 646sqm of green areas along with irrigation lines.
Once works on all seven zones are completed, the project will provide 7,537sqm of green areas, 450 trees and 56km of shared pedestrian and cycle paths. These are in addition to developing 22km of roads, 6.3km of irrigation lines and 61.5km of stormwater lines.
The project area is located within Al Rayyan Municipality and serves medium to high density residential areas in addition to two schools, 25 bus stations, 780 residential plots, nine mosques as well as several commercial and government centres.
As part of the project, surface water drainage is developed while upgrading the foul sewer network and house connections and establishing a new treated sewage effluent network. Also, infrastructure utility services through the upgrade of electricity, telecommunications and potable water lines are upgraded while installing street lighting poles.
