As part of the initiative to improve public parks services, the Public Parks Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), in co-operation with the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), on Thursday organised the first phase of distributing medical bags for first aid in public parks. According to an official MME press statement, this was held based on community cooperation.
The event was attended by Mohamed Ibrahim al-Sada, Assistant Director of the Public Parks Department, Khaled al-Sindi from the Public Parks Department, Adel Jassim al-Kuwari, Director of the Supply Department in the Medical Affairs Sector of QRCS and Buti Al-Kaabi, Head of the Support Services Department at Al-Hamela Health Centre of QRCS and Salem Mubarak al-Abdullah, Director of Public Relations at QRCS.
This initiative aims to provide temporary and immediate care and pain relief for any injured who go to public parks. These bags will be distributed to some public parks in the country.
The first aid kit contains rubber bandage, sterile gauze, medical cotton, an adhesive tape of various sizes, a medical swab used to clean wounds and an analgesic for pain before applying a wound tape, adhesive bandages of various sizes, and compresses used to prevent swelling of injuries.
