The Al-Rayyan Municipality closed two food establishments in September while carrying out a total of 2869 inspection tours on food establishments. According to an official press statement by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), the tours resulted in recording 36 while one report was transferred to the security authorities. A total of 40 complaints against food establishments were followed up.
Health Control Department inspectors supervised 3,265 butchered animal bodies in private slaughterhouses while 186 kg of meat was destroyed. 76789 kg of vegetables and fruits were destroyed in Al-Sailiya market while 46 samples were sent to the central laboratory for quality testing.
