Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a campaign under the slogan 'I am not just a number' to draw attention to the need to take care of orphans and provide them with a decent life within the framework of its qualitative initiative, 'Rofaqa', in 35 countries around the world.
Media and influencers will participate in this campaign on social media platforms to give a reminder on taking care of orphans and supporting them to enhance their presence in society, QC has said in a statement.

The campaign seeks to secure sponsorship and comprehensive care for orphans in the education, health and social aspects, as well as recreational, training programmes and activities, under the direct supervision of its field offices worldwide.
The campaign highlights the number of orphans increasing alarmingly, as 10,000 children are added to the lists of orphans daily, while the number of orphans reaches 140mn in the world, the statement noted.
The campaign focuses, through its slogan, on the aspect that orphans are not just numbers referred to by international reports. Instead, they are an important segment of society that has the right to a decent life. Every sponsored orphan represents a success story that needs to be written in its initials through comprehensive sponsorship.
The number of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity for the current year, through its 'Campaign to sponsor orphans' initiative, has reached 24,628, bringing the total number of those sponsored so far to 4,187,948 orphans, which makes it the largest incubator for orphans around the world, the statement added.
Qatar Charity began its journey of sponsoring orphans decades ago as part of the social care services it provides, and then launched at the end of 2013 the 'Rofaqa' initiative, which is exclusively concerned with the issues of children and orphans, to be an incubator for orphan care around the world.
Its vision focuses on leadership in achieving the concept of social solidarity in the field of orphan care to serve humanity and achieve sustainable social development.
The Rofaqa: World's Largest Family for Orphans campaign comprises hundreds of thousands of members, sponsors, employees, supervisors and organisers. It provides comprehensive care for orphans in the health, educational, cultural and sports fields.
Those wishing to donate to the campaign can do so through the Qatar Charity website and application, qch.qa/Rofaqa and qch.qa/App, through the call centre at 44667711, or by visiting QC branches and collection points.
