Ooredoo will be the ‘Official Telecommunications Sponsor’ for the non-governmental educational organisation, ‘Teach for Qatar’.
“The NGO does this by reinvesting exceptionally talented leaders into the government school system through a two-year teaching and leadership development programme known as the Leadership Journey,” Ooredoo said in a statement.
This initiative aligns with Ooredoo’s commitment to developing the local community and supporting Qatar’s growth as it strides towards the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Ooredoo CEO Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Thani said, “We’re delighted and honoured to be working with ‘Teach for Qatar’ to provide support to educational establishments in Qatar through finding solutions to challenges faced by students in the country.
“We’re committed to supporting education, and access to education, as a key pillar of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and we look forward to seeing ‘Teach for Qatar’ make a difference through the Leadership Journey programme.”
Nasser Yousef al-Jaber, CEO of ‘Teach for Qatar’, said: “We are looking forward to working with Ooredoo as our Official Telecommunication Sponsor. At ‘Teach for Qatar’, we are committed to ensuring that students are inspired by the best role models in the country and our partnerships play a key role in achieving the organisation’s goals.”
