The Ministry of Municipality and Environment participated Monday via videoconferencing in the 49th session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) meet entitled "Making a Difference in Food Security and Nutrition," that will continue until Oct. 14.

This session, in which the Ministry was represented by Director of the Food Security Department Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, focuses on the 2021 Food Security and Nutrition Situation Report, the adoption of the Committee's Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition, the Committee's Multi-Year Work Program, and other work streams and priorities of the Committee.

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is an intergovernmental organization responsible for reviewing and monitoring food security and nutrition policies. The Committee develops policy recommendations and guidelines on food security and nutrition issues, through evidence-based scientific reports prepared by the high-level panel of experts on food security and nutrition, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Program (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
