Under the aegis of the Indian embassy in Qatar and the North Indian Association of Qatar, Indian schools have celebrated the Hindi Pakhwara.
The finale of the inter-schools competitions of the Pakhwara was celebrated at Birla Public School on September 27. Principal A P Sharma and vice-principal (Co-Scholastic) Rajesh Pillai of BPS addressed the student participants from various Indian schools, reiterating the importance of Hindi and promoting the language among all Indians.
Posters on the heritage of the Hindi language were exhibited on various bulletin boards on the BPS campus. As part of the Pakhwara, a special assembly was conducted on September 23 while an inter-school poem competition was held on September 27. Competitions were conducted in Hindi for singing, slogan-writing and storytelling for the BPS students to develop their language skills and to promote Hindi among the students. The two-week long celebration took place at various venues in which the students of BPS participated joyously and with great interest.
