Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Friday signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the field of adaptation to climate change and green growth at the GGGI headquarters in Seoul in the presence of HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie and GGGI's President Ban Ki-moon.





During the visit, HE the Minister held a series of meetings, which began with his meeting with Ban Ki-moon, in the context of strengthening Qatar's regional and international efforts in climate change and sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the visit, HE the Minister met with Korean Minister of Environment Han Jeoung-ae and Deputy Minister for Climate Change in the Korean Foreign Ministry Hyoeun Jenny Kim.
During the two meetings, they reviewed aspects of co-operation between Qatar and Korea in environment, climate change, and environmentally sustainable development.
Qatar's ambassador to Korea Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Hamar attended the meetings.
The Seoul-based GGGI is an international organisation that aims to support and promote green growth to achieve sustainable development and create a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability.
