The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Tuesday hosted a bell ringing ceremony as part of its participation in the World Investor Week initiated by the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the World Federation of Exchanges.
John O'Brien associate dean at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar and Prof. Adam Mohamed Ali Fadlalla, acting dean of College of Business and Economics of Qatar University participated in the activity which was held in the trading floor of the QSE.
Rashid bin Ali al Mansoori, QSE chief executive, highlighted the bourse's ongoing efforts to enhance financial literacy among all society segments.
Reiterating its commitment to financial education of the people, particularly youth; al-Mansoori said since 2013, the QSE has provided financial educational training to more than 10,000 students belonging to various educational institutions, universities, schools and military colleges.
"QSE's participation in this global initiative demonstrates our commitment towards enhancing financial literacy and investment awareness through various programmes and initiatives that have been expanded and developed over the years," said Hussain Mohamed al-Abdulla, QSE’s Director of Marketing and Communications.
