Al Wakra Municipality's Health Control Section carried out 823 inspection tours in September targeting various food outlets and retailers, which resulted in issuing 31 violation reports according to law no 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control, with nine of them resolved in reconciliation and two referred to the security department concerned. In addition, the veterinarians supervised the slaughtering of 9,716 heads of livestock at Al Wakra Automated Slaughterhouse. A total of 291 slaughtered carcasses and 14,118kg of meat were destroyed for being unsuitable for human consumption. In the fish market, 30 tonnes of fish were examined and 110kg destroyed. An administrative decision was also issued to shut a restaurant for violating the stipulations of the law.
