The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) managing committee, along with ICC president P N Baburajan, has launched the Vande Bharat poster showcasing highlights of the weeklong celebrations starting Saturday, which is Gandhi Jayanti.
The daily events are planned as part of the India@75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the participation of affiliated organisations showcasing a fiesta of cultural programmes.
Saturday's list of events includes a wuiz program with 12 finalists, a Gandhi Jayanti painting exhibition and prize distribution, followed by a cultural show by the Barwa Community Monday Activity Group, and 'Bharat Darshan', depicting India’s freedom struggle with a skit and unity in diversity through dances.
On October 3, Samanvayam will present 'Vande Mataram', a skit on martyrs, while 'Bharat Bhagya Bidhata' will be presented by Bangiya Parishad Qatar on October 5 with group dances and patriotic songs.
On October 6, Indian Women’s Association (IWA) will present 'Bharat Ke Rang IWA ke sang', representing dance forms from various states of India. The Subramania Bharathi centenary celebrations will be held on October 7 by Qatar Tamizhar Sangam.
Telangana Jagruthi Qatar will present Batukamma on October 8, a dance and floral festival of the Telugu people, while Maestro Arts will present Navratri celebrations with classical dance performances on October 9.
