* Baladna in deal with Liberty Packing Manufactures to supply materials and cartons for dairy and juice packaging
Baladna has announced a deal with Liberty Packing Manufactures to supply materials and cartons for dairy and juice packaging.
The memorandum of understanding was signed during a ceremony held at Baladna's headquarters recently.
The MoU was signed by Baladna’s managing director, Ramez al-Khayyat and Ali Hassan al-Emadi, vice-chairman and CEO of Liberty Packaging.
Also in attendance were Piet Hilarides, Baladna’s CEO and Abdulla Hassan Alobaidly, member of the board of directors, as well as executives from both companies.
This MoU with Liberty Packing will enable Baladna to use products that meet international specifications that are manufactured in the local market.
Ramez al-Khayyat said, “This memorandum of understanding represents Baladna's continuous commitment to enhance economic and industrial integration and interdependence between Qatari companies.”
“Baladna’s total purchases of Qatari products have increased from 25% in 2020 to 50% in the current year. These products range from raw materials, packaging supplies, and printing tools to logistical services, and fodder.
“This reflects Baladna's approach to add value to the economy by raising the economic multiplier to reach sustainable growth. Baladna wants to increase co-operation with Qatari companies and production units to achieve an advanced level of self-sufficiency in line with Qatar Vision 2030.”
Ali Hassan al-Emadi said, “This new partnership marks an important step in developing the local economy in line with the Qatar National Vision, aimed at achieving sustainability and self-sufficiency for the State of Qatar.
“We are proud of our partnership with Baladna, which ensures an advanced and stable system that provides their factory with the carton materials required for packaging dairy products and juices that better serve the requirements of the local market.”
