Forging more partnerships between stakeholders and major players of the construction industry, as well as those from architecture and interior design institutions, is a key factor in enhancing Qatar’s investment environment, according to HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari.
Al-Kuwari made the statement Monday at the ‘Build Your House 2021’ exhibition, which he inaugurated at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, the event will run until September 22.
The minister stressed the importance of BYH 2021 highlighting Qatar’s construction sector. “Qatar has been witnessing a major construction boom, in light of the trend towards completing development projects aimed at achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as at implementing the programme for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” al-Kuwari said.
Al-Kuwari said the exhibition provided an opportunity to learn about the most prominent technological developments and the best international practices in the field of environment-friendly engineering, construction, interior, and exterior design.
After inaugurating the event, the minister toured the pavilions, services, and products offered by participating companies and institutions.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is participating in this year's edition by organising a workshop titled ‘House Building Advice for Consumers’, which aims to provide guidance to potential house owners and builders.
The second edition of BYH features the participation of about 150 companies working in a range of sectors specialing in the design, renovation, and construction of homes in Qatar, including contracting, architecture, and interior design companies.
