Barwa Real Estate Group has appointed Saleh Abdullah al-Sharafi as CEO of Al-Waseef Asset Management Company, which is wholly owned by the Barwa Real Estate Group. 
The Group's Board of Directors has “welcomed al-Sharafi to his new position, and expressed great confidence that Barwa Real Estate attaches to him, and its aspiration for his role in implementing the group's vision, which aims to continue the company's march in achieving sustainability for shareholder returns,” Barwa Real Estate said in a press statement Saturday.
Al-Sharafi holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida in the US, and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University. 
He is a fellow member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and Water Science and Technology Association (WSTA). 
Al Sharafi is one of the distinguished Qatari cadres in Barwa Real Estate Group, where he is currently a BoD member of Qatar Project Management (QPM); a subsidiary of the Group. He has almost 30 years of leadership and management experience in many institutions that belong to the sectors of real estate, facilities management, maintenance services and environmental safety, along with his experience in setting up and leading private businesses in the local market. 
Al-Sharafi held several positions in Barwa Real Estate Group and Waseef Company. He previously held the positions of acting CEO, business support manager, acting director of operations and director (Real Estate Affairs) at Waseef Company. 
He also worked as an advisor to the CEO of Barwa Real Estate, and as a project manager of Barwa Al Baraha, and acting CEO of Barwa Facilities Management Company.
Prior to joining Barwa Real Estate, al-Sharafi had 17 years of experience at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, where he held many positions in quality management, safety and environmental engineering.
