The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has announced the opening of the QR70.3mn Ain Sinan Substation.
The opening, according to an official Kahramaa press statement Wednesday, comes as part of the corporation’s efforts to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the electricity network.
The power station was constructed in accordance with the highest standards of security and safety and the works were completed on September 1.

With a voltage of 132/11kV, the Ain Sinan station is fed from the Al-Kaaban main station and supplies power to surrounding residential areas. Also, it is equipped with two transformers of 40 megavolt-amperes in addition to overhead lines with a length of 13,623km, the statement notes.
“The opening of this station comes as part of Kahramaa’s continuous efforts to provide services according to the highest standards of reliability in its electrical network. This is in line with the best international standards and in accordance with the requirements locally by using an advanced protection system linked to the fiber-optic network of 132/11 kV control switches with the aim of raising the level of protection on network feeders,” the Kahramaa press statement explained.
The corporation stressed that it is keen to follow the best standards of security and safety across all its activities and operations. It has been able to complete works related to the project according to its strategic plans without recording any injuries or accidents among workers, and this was positively reflected in the level of productivity and achievement, the statement added.
