The Business Year has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) to place under the spotlight the role of women in the development of the Qatari economy.
The Business Year’s latest research on the Qatari economy is in full swing, with the upcoming ‘The Business Year: Qatar 2022’ set to release as Qatar plays host to the FIFA World Cup.
And on top of the analysis on how the 2022 FIFA World Cup has impacted the local economy, the publication will include a special feature on women in leadership positions in Qatar and their contribution to Qatar National Vision 2030.
Through this coverage, The Business Year will invite inspiring women to share their words and come together to represent the country and its female leadership. At the signing ceremony, QBWA was represented by its vice chairwoman, Aisha Alfardan, and Nataly Almanza, country manager of The Business Year.
Alfardan said, “QBWA is very happy to be working with The Business Year to best capture how women are contributing to the development of Qatar in a context where the country will gain international exposure thanks to the final preparations for the FIFA World Cup.”
Almanza added: “The Business Year is grateful to QBWA and all the female representatives for their support in preparing this new edition on Qatar. Special attention also needs to be given to international companies that have invested in Qatar and decided to appoint females in leadership positions, as they are contributing significantly to gender equality.”
The Business Year has been in Qatar since 2014. Some of the women it has interviewed for its reports include Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health; Hessa al-Jaber, chairperson of Qatar Satellite Company (Es’hailsat); Reem al-Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development, MoTC; and Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad al-Thani, deputy CEO and chief business officer at QFC Authority.
‘The Business Year: Qatar 2022’ will be The Business Year’s eighth edition on Qatar and the publication will coincide with Qatar’s final preparations for the FIFA World Cup. Interviewees will be invited to share their words on how companies and institutions have contributed to the long road to hosting the event, as well as on plans to maintain the country’s strong growth path in the event’s aftermath.
The publication will be distributed both domestically and globally and will reach an even larger audience via The Business Year’s network of digital platforms. All interviews and content will be also available on key business information platforms, including Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, Dow Jones Factiva, and FactSet, as well as PressReader and Google Books, and will be available at thebusinessyear.com.
