Civil Defence evacuated shopkeepers from the Mall of Qatar as a precaution after smoke was detected in the kitchen of a restaurant in the complex.
Civil Defence said in a Twitter post that the evacuation was carried out as a safety precaution.

"Civil Defense reassures the safety procedures in the Mall of Qatar complex by evacuating it as a precaution after smoke rose inside the kitchen of one of the restaurants in the complex without any casualties."
The Mall of Qatar management said in a social media post that a small fire occurred in the kitchen exhaust of one of the restaurants and it was immediately controlled without any injuries.
Mall of Qatar management took the necessary procedures, the tenants and visitors were instantly evacuated. The Civil Defense inspected the site before resuming business as usual.
