The health education team at the Training and Development Center of the Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) organised a series of awareness sessions in the workers' health centres which are managed by QRCS in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health.
The awareness sessions, implemented with full adherence to the Covid-19 precautionary measures, came within the framework of an awareness initiative launched by QRCS to support community prevention from communicable diseases, such as Covid-19, among expatriate workers.
QRCS health educators visited four workers' health centers over three days and organised lectures on the Covid-19 vaccine.
Personal hygiene materials were also distributed to the workers, as a gift from the Qatar Cancer Society within the framework of co-operation with QRCS, with the aim of promoting a culture of hygiene and disinfection among workers, thus contributing to protecting them and those around them from the risk of infection with the coronavirus.
This initiative is supported by the continuous health education programme for workers within the healthcare services for workers, which is implemented by accredited health education teams in health centres.
The programme training and health awareness sessions two times a week in each center, in multiple languages and various means of communication, highlighting the importance of vaccination and continuous personal protection from Covid-19.
More than 3,000 workers benefit from these sessions each month.
Executive Director of the Medical Affairs Sector of QRCS Abdullah Sultan al-Qattan said that Qatar is witnessing progress in various fields, especially in the health field, through the implementation of the National Health Strategy. (QNA)
