MES Indian School observed the National Sports Day of India on August 29 to encourage students to participate in physical activities and ensure physical and mental fitness, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The day marks the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, an Indian field hockey player, who was regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the sport and widely acclaimed for his extraordinary goal-scoring feats in the international sports arena.
The activities included online sports quiz, push-up, plank and skipping activities. Principal Hameeda Kadar remarked that sports and games are imperative for the overall well-being as well as the holistic growth of the students. Akbar Ali K T, head of the department of physical education co-ordinated the event.
