From a delivery app to popup restaurant concept, to one of West Bay’s "busiest tabletop buffet" and now a fully-fledged restaurant, Thai Kitchen’s "success and loyal fanbase" has been described as "a truly remarkable restaurant success story".
At the start of the pandemic, when most restaurants were closed to public access, a Thai takeaway concept was conceptualised and created by the hotel general manager and executive chef, and soon picked up a loyal and large fanbase, a press statement noted.
As hotel restrictions began to ease with patrons asking if they can order their Thai favourites at the hotel, the Thai Kitchen popup restaurant was created on Thursday nights with the launch of the Thai Kitchen Night tabletop buffet.
But even that wasn’t enough to satisfy guest requests. Soon regulars had their say, and it was decided to completely rebrand the existing all-day-dining outlet at Centara West Bay to what was requested for. Thai Kitchen now would have its very own restaurant location that would be ready to accommodate all that its fans requested, the statement pointed out.
With its launch set for September 9 (9 being an auspicious number in Thailand), it’s "expected to become the central hub for Thai food fanatics in the West Bay area". “It truly is a great success story for Thai Kitchen, from an out-of-the-book idea, we are truly humbled by the outstanding positive response and fanbase the concept now has. We have no doubt that with the conversion of Caprice restaurant to Thai Kitchen, this will be a continued success story with further brand expansion," said Sean Spinks, general manager of Centara West Bay.
Centrally located in the Doha’s vibrant financial and business district with easy access to the finest shopping, cultural sights and tourist attractions, Centara West Bay is a short walk from the Doha Metro, Corniche, City Center Doha and the new West Bay Public Beach development. Other key locations in Qatar such as Katara, West Bay Lagoon, The Pearl-Qatar and Al Bidda Park can also be accessed easily.
