HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met Thursday with Special Envoy for Afghan Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Yue Xiaoyong, who is currently visiting the country. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, and the latest field developments in Afghanistan, in both its security and political aspects. HE Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of protecting civilians and the need to intensify the necessary efforts to achieve national reconciliation, as well as to seek a comprehensive political settlement that guarantees a peaceful transfer of power in Afghanistan, in line with the gains achieved by the Afghan people.
