The Al Sadd trio of Baghdad Bounedjah, Jung Woo-young, and Andre Ayew have received international call-ups ahead of the upcoming FIFA matchdays in September, which including two matches in the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Bounedjah is scheduled to play for Algeria against Djibouti, on September 2 in Group A, and then against Burkina Faso on September 7.
Andre Ayew’s Ghana will face South Africa and Ethiopia in the same round of the African qualifiers, while Jung Woo-young will join the South Korean national team, ahead of their games against Iraq and Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Al Sadd players continued their daily training as part of the preparations for the start of the 2021-22 QNB Stars League season, as the coaching staff look to ensure they are fully ready before the start of the league championship.
During yesterday’s training session, the available players went through technical skill drills, under the supervision of the coaching staff.
Meanwhile, a friendly match has been scheduled for the Al Sadd first team against Lusail. The match will kick off at 7pm today at the Al Sadd training facility, and will be closed to fans due to Covid-19 precautionary measures.
