College of the North Atlantic–Qatar(CNA-Q) has announced more than 20 new applied bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes for current, new and international students for the academic year 2021/2022.
The new programmes cater to the need of the local and international markets and will equip Qatari and expatriate talents with the necessary skills to serve an ever-evolving economy.
The programmes at the School of Business Management and Information Technology are: Master of Applied Science in Human Resource Management (MA Sc HRM); Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Applied Accounting (BA BA A Acct); Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Banking and Financial Technology (BA BA BK FinTech); Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Digital Marketing (BA BA DM); Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Human Resources Management (BA BA HRM); Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Healthcare Management (BA BA HM); Bachelor of Applied Science in Data and Cyber Security (BA Sc DCS); Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (BA Sc DSAI); Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Systems (BA Sc IS) and Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology (BA Sc IT).
School of Engineering Technology offers Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemical and Processing Engineering (BSc A CPE); Bachelor of Science in Applied Telecommunications and Network Engineering (BSc A TNE) and Bachelor of Science in Applied Maintenance Engineering Technology (BSc A MET).
The programmes at the School of Health Sciences are: Master of Applied Science in Critical Care Paramedicine (MA Sc CCP); Master of Applied Science in Diabetes Care and Patient Education (MA Sc DCPE); Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene (BA Sc DH); Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health (BA Sc EH); Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (BA Sc OHSE); Bachelor of Applied Science in Paramedicine (BA Sc P); Bachelor of Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology (BA Sc PT); Bachelor of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy (BA Sc RT) and Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiography (BA Sc MR).
The innovative majors come as part of the transformation that the College is currently undergoing, 20 years after its inception. Dr Salem al-Naemi, CNA-Q president said: “The changes that CNA-Q is currently implementing will lay a strong foundation for further growth. We will soon become the first National Applied University and this step will benefit our students and the wider community. Most postgraduate jobs in our market are structured around entirely hands-on competencies, and by introducing all these applied bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programmes, we are preparing our students for a lifetime of professional success.”
CNA-Q will continue to offer two-year and three-year diplomas in addition to the new programmes, all framed within a student-centred approach. The College Schools offer varied programmes; a total of 18 programmes at School of Business Management and Information Technology, 17 programmes at School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades and 15 programmes at School of Health Sciences.
