The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc (IIEE) Qatar Chapter showcased the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) through the Philippine Technological Council (PTC) by hosting the '3rd Online Conferment'.
The chapter conferred 41 Filipino electrical practitioners as Asean engineers, associate Asean engineer, Asean technologists, and Asean technician during a hybrid virtual and face-to-face ceremony.
The conferees have received tokens and AER credentials from the AER head commissioner Yau Chau Fong, who represents the AFEO based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, PTC president engineer Federico A Monsada and country registrar engineer Romulo R Agatep.
The guests online from the Philippines were 2021 IIEE president engineer Allan Anthony Alvarez and IIEE AAPER Committee chairman Dr Florigo C Varona, and vice-chairman engineer Robert U Mabulay, who is also the IIEE-Qatar Chapter adviser.
The Philippine embassy in Qatar was represented by consul general Roussel Reyes who delivered a message from ambassador Allan L Timbayan. The envoy hailed the notable achievement of Filipino electrical engineers and technicians being listed in the Asean Engineering Register that facilitates mobility of services in the Asean region and serves as testament to their competitiveness.
The AER virtual conferment ceremony has been the third event that IIEE-Qatar Chapter hosted since its inception in December 2021. Filipino electrical engineers in Qatar provide its collaborated efforts under chapter president engineer Rudilyn S Reyes, activity chairman engineer Lauren M Olivos and the participation of ACPE-AER Committee chaired by engineer Erwin S Peniones along with the PTC deputy presidential adviser and co-ordinator for Qatar, engineer Roy L Baquiran.
