The Indian embassy has decided to allow applicants to visit between 12.30pm and 1pm on any working day, without a prior appointment, to submit their application for the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) certificate. This comes in view of the high demand for the NRI certificate for admission in colleges in India under the NRI category, the embassy said in a post on Twitter Friday.
"Kindly note that this facility is only for NRI certificate applications. For any other consular service, prior appointment will be required," the embassy added. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy has encouraged all Indian nationals in Qatar to register themselves with the mission online. This is voluntary in nature and will enable the embassy to share information/updates/activities regularly, the embassy tweeted.
