The Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic has held an awareness lecture for delivery drivers. The awareness programme comes as part of the department’s efforts to raise the level of traffic awareness among this category of drivers. Capt Abdul Wahid al-Anzi, Traffic Awareness officer, led the awareness programme.
Currently, the department is implementing intensified awareness programmes to address the issue of reckless motorbike riding on Qatar's roads. An action plan is being implemented in co-ordination with delivery companies and youth centres in order to eliminate accidents and reckless driving on roads. Also, the Traffic Department is working to establish a special committee to list all delivery companies that own motorbikes with the aim of having traffic awareness programmes for this category of road users.
