Al Madina International Kindergarten recently ended their academic year on a high note with pomp and fanfare.
The red-carpet event was a two-day function conducted at the school grounds in a creative manner. The drive-through graduation saw parents driving in one family at a time with their newly-graduated child, taking pictures with the teaching staff, all while maintaining social distancing and abiding by Covid-19 restrictions.
The students opened the ceremony with recitations. Thereafter, the students were robed in their graduation caps and gowns. They also prepared ‘Thank You’ cards for their parents in appreciation of the collective efforts of parents in educating children during blended at-home learning amidst the various phases of restrictions in the country.
Leading up to the event, Al Madina had conducted a series of competitions during the annual examinations. These included an EYFS reading competition as well as the Jassim Khalifa Al Malki Holy Qur’an competition, which is sponsored by and named after the late father of Ali Jassim al-Malki, owner of the kindergarten.
Students who excelled were awarded certificates, gifts and cash prizes as an encouragement for their outstanding performance, along with their report cards and kindergarten graduation diplomas.
Al Madina KG is in its sixth year of running and has always prided itself in delivering the perfect balance between British style education and Qatari culture, language, Islamic etiquette and values. This was showcased at the end of the year and was evident in the gratitude of the parents, the excitement of the teachers and the accomplishments of the students.
