* Takes necessary measures to issue draft law on organising parking loots
  
The Cabinet has approved its draft decision to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) committee, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaei issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings.
The report said the Ministry of Transport and Communications will establish a committee named the Artificial Intelligence Committee, which will specialise in a number of areas.
These include "establishing mechanisms for the implementation of Qatar's strategy for artificial intelligence, following up on that in co-ordination with the ministries and authorities concerned in the country, supervising programmes and initiatives related to artificial intelligence launched by the ministries and authorities concerned in the country, ensuring its access to sectors, its completion and review in co-ordination with those ministries and authorities, the development of recommendations for plans and programmes for preparing human cadres in the field of artificial intelligence applications, in co-ordination with the authorities concerned in the country, and proposing activities and events to support emerging companies in the field of artificial intelligence and scientific research in this field", QNA said.
The Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue the following draft laws after reviewing the recommendations of the Shura Council in their regard: a draft law on the organisation of parking lots, a draft law amending some provisions of the Qatar Financial Centre Law issued by Law No 7 of 2005, and a draft law amending some provisions of Law No 34 of 2005 regarding free zones.
The meeting also approved a draft decision of HE the Minister of Finance on determining the procedures and conditions for appointing a tax deputy and assigned obligations.
Further, the Cabinet reviewed the following two issues and took appropriate decisions: the results of the extraordinary meeting of the GCC Health Ministers' Committee (May 2021, via video-conferencing), and the results of meeting No 23 of GCC ministers responsible for environmental affairs (June 2021, via video-conferencing).
