Barwa City Monday Activity Group (BCMAG) recently organised an online yoga and acupressure sessions to mark International Day of Yoga.
The sessions were presented by Shalini Tiwari, yoga teacher, acupressure therapist, counselor and nutritionist.
BCMA is a voluntary organisation run by women residing in Barwa City, under the guidance of Tiwari.
From Jun 1 to 21, the group conducted a 21-day yoga programme for members of the North Indian Association of Qatar.
Encouraged by Baburajan, president, Indian Cultural Centre, and its committee members, the group also presented a visual treat with the rendition of Indian traditional yoga and patriotic musical background under the title ‘Heal Through Nature’.
The event was attended by Suman Sonkar, second secretary at the Indian embassy.
A musical yoga performance was presented by BCMAG members – Anita Dutta, Vandana Nachiket Alurkar, Savita Peralath, Pooja Tiwari, Nisha James,Suman Agrawal, Preshya Pushpan, Sharda Tekavade, Indira Bhat and Shalini Tiwari.
Through the musical yoga performance, strengthening of lungs and increasing its efficiency were explained. In addition, a special tribute was paid to all the corona warriors of the world who work tirelessly for the wellbeing of others.
