The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Radiation and Chemicals Protection Department, participated in the annual meeting of the Regional Technical Co-operation Programme for Arab States in Asia (ARASIA), which was held via videoconferencing in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The ministry was represented at the meeting by Eng.Abdullah Jumaa al-Muraikhi, the national focal point for the programme.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to ARASIA programme for the 2020-2021 session, the achievements made and the challenges and obstacles; in addition to the projects for the 2022-2023 session and the budget established for it.
The meeting also discussed the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the programme's projects, namely the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the fields of agriculture, food, environment, health and radiation safety. (QNA)
