Many of us feel that we have aspects of our personality or life that we cannot understand. We may also notice certain behaviours and attitudes that we do over and over again, although each time it leads us to negative results, but we cannot stop them. What is the reason behind that? You see well, a lot of times it’s because such people lack an important life skill, which is ‘self-awareness’!

What is self awareness?
Self-awareness means paying attention and trying to learn more about ourselves.

How to have better self-awareness?
Having known your level of self-awareness, and discovering that you may need to develop and raise it, you may now wonder: How do I do that? I have already explained at the beginning of the article that self-awareness is one of the most difficult human skills, but that does not mean that acquiring and developing it is impossible. With practice and practice, anything is possible.  

Here are some simple ways to help you become more self-aware and understand your inner self:
1. Use ‘what’ instead of ‘why’!
2. Pay more attention to what annoys you in others.
3. Go on short trips.
4. Accept criticism from loved ones.
5. Gain a new talent.
6. Take time to articulate your own values and principles.
