Qatar Charity (QC) recently received financial support from Landmark Group brands Centrepoint, Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart, Lifestyle, Home Centre, Max, Shoexpress, Steve Madden, Pablosky and Ecco under their corporate social responsibility programmes.
The support comes as an expression of Landmark Group’s participation in the services provided through Qatar Charity to the community, among which it runs its commercial activities, QC has said in a statement.
The financial support will be channeled towards the care of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity within the country.
Shumalan Naicker, territory head of Landmark Group Qatar, handed over a cheque of QR123,081 to Ahmed al-Shirawi, head of the Relations and Social Responsibility Section at Qatar Charity.
Al-Shirawi thanked Landmark Group for its co-operation and partnership within the framework of social responsibility, noting the importance of this support for the families of orphans, as it will contribute to lessening burdens on their families.
He added that this initiative of Landmark Group will contribute to supporting charitable and humanitarian work and promoting the values of solidarity to serve the local community, noting that QC is keen to co-operate and partner with all in the charitable and humanitarian field.
“We believe in giving back to the local communities in which we operate, and in affirmation of this principle, we have contributed to the charitable work carried out by Qatar Charity for the benefit of orphans within the country,” said Naicker, who added that the group has been co-operating with Qatar Charity for four years and praised QC for its highly professional humanitarian activities.
He hoped to continue co-operation with Qatar Charity and participate in its community activities for the benefit of those with a low income.
Landmark Group had made an in-kind donation worth QR600,000 in 2019.
